Four Legged Scholars LLC, Ravenna Dog Training and Surrounding Areas
This past Tuesday, I had a blast volunteering at the Portage County Dog Warden in Ravenna. Dog training is always my focus here. My experience this past week was really fun and I had much success with the dogs.
I worked with Pogo, a pit bull terrier mix, who is a super jumpy dog. He has so much energy, and he is super cute. Last week, he struggled a ton with settling down in the kennel. This week he settled into a sit in his kennel much faster.
When I took him out, he jumped much less than the previous week. We really worked on teaching him how to be calm and sit even when I was excited. Then we did some work on not jumping during a short leash week.
I was super impressed with his progress during our dog training. Ravenna will hopefully attract a resident soon that would love to adopt this cute dog.
I also worked with a pug that struggled with sitting. When I moved the treat above his head he wanted to jump up or remain in a stand rather than going into a sit. Of course, I am persistent so eventually he got it and was sitting.
In fact, he even learned the meaning of the word “sit” on Tuesday. It is amazing what persistence can do with dog training. Ravenna is an area that we serve so if you are struggling with getting your dog, we can help you too.
Lastly, I worked with a boxer and he picked up everything quickly through our dog training. Ravenna at the Portage County Dog Warden is always a blast for us. This boxer certainly agreed. We worked on sit, down, watch and target.
Until next week, I hope the training holds in their memory. Looking forward to next Tuesday at the Portage County Dog Warden in Ravenna. Dog training fun times will again return.
