Four Legged Scholars LLC – Dog Training – Kent and Surrounding Areas
Are you at your wits end because your dog acts crazy around other dogs? Do you feel completely stressed out when you walk your dog, or do you avoid walking your dog because he looses it when he sees another dog?
Unfortunately, this is a common problem for many dog owners. Fortunately, this means you are not alone and there is much scientific evidence that we can change this behavior. Four Legged Scholars LLC Dog Training (Kent) has much experience helping these owners create peace of mind on their walks.
We received a call today from someone in Aurora, Ohio that has a dog that goes crazy when he sees other dogs. The owner has trouble walking her dog.
We also are helping another terrier mix become more calm around other dogs. His name is Cocoa and we just began helping him through dog training. Kent is where Cocoa lives.
Not long ago we helped Amber with Buckley. You may have read about Buckley before. He recently graduated from our Freshman Obedience Course at the top of the class! Amber is very dedicated with her dog training. Kent is near Garrettsville, where the course was located.
Amber has numerous complaints. Buckley was not coming when called, was pulling on the leash and was acting crazy around dogs and cars. Whenever, he saw another dog he would lunge, pull, and bark on the leash.
I was with Amber when she was attempting to grasp what to do about this behavior on her own. She was feeling really stressed and was trying so hard to get Buckley to snap out of his reaction and to just calm down.
Buckley was completely ignoring her and wouldn’t listen to anything that she commanded. He even ignored the treats that Amber attempted to feed him. Amber struggled to walk him in any area where there were other dogs.
Amber and Buckley learned many basic obedience commands, but the command that helped the most was “leave it.” Amber has stated that Buckley will at times think of barking now and will instead look toward her when she says “leave it.”
This calm behavior is happening more and more frequently. Of course Buckley gets a huge pay off for responding which is treats. An even greater reward for Buckley is a happy owner that isn’t feeling stressed all of the time.
Amber had numerous times in our group course where Buckley chose to listen to her commands instead of barking at other dogs. It was very impressive, and I could tell that Amber felt so much more confident.
Amber is extremely dedicated in practicing and is very committed with her dog training. Kent and other nearby cities will be impressed when they see how well-behaved this dog has become.
He also has improved greatly with come and loose leash walking as well. Jumping was a focus for us as too. He is a very hyper dog and even though he still jumps at time, Amber knows what to do to curb this behavior. She turns her back or redirects him to perform sit instead. Overtime this is lessoning as well.
I am beyond happy with the results that Amber has created with Buckley from training with Four Legged Scholars LLC Dog Training – Kent.
