We understand how annoying it is to have a dog that is constantly biting and licking you. You are probably wanting a moment of calm behavior with your dog. You are not alone and this is a common issue.
We can help. At Four Legged Scholars, Dog Training, Northeast Ohio, we care about your peace of mind.
I volunteer every week at the Dog Warden in Portage County. Dog training is what I focus on because I want to increase the adoptability for the cute doggies here.
In this video I am training Maggie to calm down. Her biting and licking was enough to drive anyone crazy. She now has much more self-control, and she can refrain from getting in someone’s face.
I remember when I first started training Maggie. She jumped all over me inside the kennel and outside of her kennel. She also jumped on the counters in the training room. Through consistent work with her, she is much calmer.
She is able to settle and stay off the counters. I was super impressed with her behavior change these past months.
This week I worked on “leave it” with Maggie. We I started with a treat in my hand and gave her a c/t (click and treat) when she turned away from my closed hand. Over time she realizes that she will get a reward for not going after my hand.
She begins to completely leave my hand alone. It was so much fun to watch this shift in her behavior through consistent dog training. Ravenna, Ohio is where the Portage County Dog Warden is located.
You can also apply the above the technique with your dog and watch how your dog will learn to settle as well. It is important to practice often and be consistent with your dog training. Northeastern Ohio is where we are located if you need help.
Namaste!
