Are you stressed because it is challenging to walk your dog?
We understand this stress and the pain. It is a common issue so we can help you.
In the many years that I have been training obedience (Middlefield Ohio), I have noticed that leash walking is a top complaint for those that like to walk with their dogs.
Many of us may expect our dogs to just walk nicely on the leash in the environments that we like. This expectation does work for some dogs and some dogs do walk perfectly on the leash right away.
For many other dogs this isn’t the case. If your goal is to have your dog to walk nicely on the leash around other people and dogs, you need to start simple first with obedience. Middlefield (Ohio) has many areas to walk your dog.
Start in your house. Then progress to your yard or driveway. Next to parking lots. Parking lots are great because smells are low and distractions can be low. Make sure it is parking lot that isn’t extremely busy.
From there you can progress to more distractions by walking your dog down less busy streets, to moderately busy streets, and eventually, progressing to super busy streets.
The Tractor Supply Stores allows dogs in the store as long as they can practice minor obedience. Middlefield Ohio is where this store resides. It is a great place to practice when your dog is ready to walk around other dogs and people.
I did a training session with one of my clients on leash walking obedience. Middlefield Ohio is where we met. Petey, a Pit Bull, did great. We were able to walk him down numerous isles in the store. However, this was after weeks of training first.
You can do it and if you need help with leash obedience. Middlefied, Ohio and surrounding areas is where we serve so you can give us a call.
