Four Legged Scholars LLC – Dog Training – Kent – Ohio and Surrounding Areas
Does your dog go so crazy during play that he won’t listen to you? Does this drive you insane? You are not alone. We understand and we can help.
Every week we go to the Portage County Dog Warden and help the dogs becomes more adoptable through dog training. Kent is near where the dog warden is located. We love working with Harley, a pit bull.
He is a hyper dog and is also very smart. We know he can learn to be more grounded.
During play he wants to jump on me and grab the ball. As a result, we worked teaching him to be a bit more calm during play. I asked Harley to sit and drop the ball before I would throw it.
This made a huge difference in his behavior. He is learning to get something that he wants he must do something that I want. The ball reward the behavior that I like so I don’t throw the ball when he isn’t acting in a “good” way.
If he jumped on me I would turn my back. You can do the same with your dog and you must realize that you need to be consistent during dog training. Kent dog owners may expect a fast change in behavior.
Even though your dog may appear to be learning quickly, you must make sure that you never throw the ball if he is acting hyper or jumping. He needs to learn that you will be strong with your boundaries.
If Harley can learn to do this, your dog can certainly do this as well. We can help you with dog training. Kent is an area that we serve.
Harley and I have done much dog training. Kent is a great place for him to live so I am hoping that he gets a home soon!
