Four Legged Scholars LLC – Puppy Training – Middlefield and Surrounding Areas
Are you struggling with getting your puppy to listen? We understand your struggles and are here to help.
This past week we worked with four different clients that had training blocks. Guess what? None of it had to do with knowing the tools in puppy training.
Middlefield puppy owners are learning more about how their emotions and thoughts affect their results.
Victoria Stilwell offers great training tools to get your puppy to listen. Bryon Katie helps more with mindset and that is what I am going to discuss in this post.
Here were some of the blocks that I saw this week:
1.) Client: “My puppy is untrainable.” Me: “How do you act when you think that?” Client: “I give up and don’t want to do any puppy training anymore.”
Me: “How do you feel when you think that thought?” Client: “My body is tense.”
2.) Client: “When my puppy sees another dog he gets tense and so do.” Me: ” How do you act when you get tense?”
Client: “My voice gets loud and my movements become jerky.” Me: “How does this affect your puppy training results?” Client: “My puppy feels my energy and then has a harder responding to my command.”
3.) Client: “I don’t feel confident when training my puppy.” Me: “How do you act when you don’t feel confident?”
Client: “I am hesitant and my actions aren’t clear. As a result, my puppy has a hard time knowing what I want him to do. Therefore, my puppy doesn’t respond in the way that I would like.”
4.) Client: “My puppies don’t listen to me.” Me: “How do you feel when you think this thought?”
Client: “I feel angry.” Me: “What do you do when you think this thought?” Client: “I repeat the command over and over again and I don’t get a response from my puppy.”
How do you break these patterns? The first step is to gain awareness of these thoughts and emotions during your puppy training. Middlefield will be happier when you gain awareness of patterns that aren’t working for you.
The next step is to choose differently. Choose thoughts, statements and questions that empower you to easily be able to practice puppy training. Middlefield puppy owners will notice when they choose these statements that are working they will feel happy, empowered, confident, and relaxed.
You can also practice breathing through your belly. This will allow emotions to flow through you so that you feel more grounded.
Once you are feeling more grounded you can change your actions more easily. How could the above people change their actions?
1.) Client: “I keep training my puppy and I ask for help from a professional to gain more clarity.”
2.) Client: “As I am breathing I can notice that my body movements are more fluid and my voice is happier and fun.”
3.) Client: “I am able to take immediate action.”
4.) Client: “I change my actions to help my puppies understand what I am communicating to them.”
You are on your way to successful puppy training. Middlefield residents will be impressed with how well you can remain grounded and get your puppy to listen at the same time. How nice to feel peace while training your puppy.
You got this!
